I've burnt a couple of CD's using iTunes on my Mac. So far, I haven't been able to get the name of the CD or any of the tracks to display on the Nav. I thought that if the CD contained ID3 tags, then it would display on the head unit.
Can anyone provide steps, fave program, or whatever is required to do this?
Not answering your question, but I thought the only file names to appear on the ML were MP3 burned onto CDs that way. That's all that I can get to work. But if I burn a regular audo CD with iTunes, it won't show the name. Don't programs like Toast or Nero provide the solution you are looking for? (A question, not an solution/answer to yours).
You can't use iTunes to burn a CD with CD names. I think iTunes does this to make it more difficult to burn-and-rerip, thus bypassing their DRM security.
You can use third-party software like Roxio or Nero to burn CDs with names. Better yet, burn MP3 CDs, so you can fit about 100 songs on the CD.
