Default Steering wheel audio controls

Recently sold my 2015 GS 350 and purchased a CPO 2019 ES350. Scratching my head to try to figure out why Lexus/Toyota changed the steering wheel audio controls and now place the volume and tuning controls on opposite sides of the steering wheel? They had the perfect design when these controls were next to each other on the left side of the wheel. You could control the radio without taking your right hand off of the gear shift. Now, you need to use both hands to operate the radio. An annoyance that seems to place form over function. Our 2019 RAV 4 is the same way!

While they might have been considering the side by side rockers to be easily confused...
my brides Nissan Rogue Sport has the station/track selector horizontal and the volume vertical
on the same spoke and it is rather more intuitive that our former layout. Agree that it is less
than ideal to have to use two hands (or let go of the wheel to reach across...ask how I know).
