I think that Lexus could really win some hearts and minds here by offering this for free... Or at least free with an oil change or something. The company really screwed up by not offering CarPlay sooner, and a "get an oil change, get CarPlay" promotion would likely be pretty successful. And easier to justify than paying $200 or so for a tech to push a software update. How hard can that be?
The fact that it is not offered on the GS or the 100k+ LX is a unacceptable. I don't care if the GS is "going away", you can't have two cars in you lineup be left out of a fleet wide upgrade.

Agreed. They really should just buck up and take care of everyone.
Yes, I agree the price is too high for this. I recently traded in the RC and got a left over 18 LS F sport, and was able to work this upgrade in for free into the deal.
