Probs with Nakamichi Stereo

Guys,

Car - 92 SC400

My stereo is getting bad static, both when I use the radio and when I play a CD. I have the Nakamichi with the 12 cd in the trunk. I am guessing that there is a bad ground on the stereo. I have been searching for a DIY to remove the stereo - but cannot find one for the Nakamichi.

I really did try searching, honest!!! Anyone have a DIY they could send my way or else have any ideas what else it could be. Thx guys and sorry if this is in the wrong section

Guys,

Before I pull this apart - do u think that grounding is my problem??? I am not very well versed on audio equipment so I don't want to spend the day doing this if my problem could lie elsewhere.
