Default HELP!! I need combinations on 92 Nak system in my sc400....

OK! so here's the deal. Lexus inspected my fully stock nak system and told me my amp is what is causing the intermitant turnon and off of my system.

I have a 1992 SC400

here's what my initial plan is..

NEW:
Alpine Headunit CDA 9807
Kicker Kx 300.4 AMP

I'm going to keep the factory speakers and sub ..... will this work??????

Total cost for Alpine and Kicker WITH shipping and installation is around $600.

Also, if you can think of other options, or better amps, or combinations or whatever, let me know!!!

hey whats up. my best advice is for you to go ahead and get the alpine unit but i would suggest that you look into getting a 5 channel amplifier. that should do well with your stock speakers.let me know what you end up doing.

okay buddy .. did some research ... can i use the cheaper of these 2 alpines??

ALPINE MRP-F320 40W x 4 + 120W x 1 CAR AMP = $170

OR

ALPINE MRV-F450 5 Channel Amp = $278

what's the difference?

thanks

the difference is that a 4 channel amplifier will only cover 4 speakers in your car. front left, front right, rear left, rear right. now where does the sub go? to the 5th channel. this will be the best sounding set up.
now if you really want to budget, then you should get a 2 channel amp for the sub only and use the speaker outputs right off your head unit. not the best sounding choice but it is the least expensive.
good luck to you.

so the mrp f320 is only a 4 channel? i found it on ebay for that price, says its a 5 channel

im assuming the mrv f450 is a 5 channel.

okay, so one of those amps, and the alpine head unit,

i'll be keeping the sub and speakers stock - no changer, just the headunit

thats like $600, all i got right now ...

both amps are 5 channels. i apologize for not being specific.
the 320 is a budget amplifier that has less power. that means if yoo are the kind of guy who likes to "crank" it up, then this is not a good amp for you. it is mainly designed for soft listeners.the other amp is a higher quality amp that reproduces excellent quality music and has more adjustment and tuning options.
oh yeah, it is also a digital amplifier.
me personally, wold go for the digital amp.
i hope this info comes in handy
