Hi

I have a 99 gs400 with nav and i just got tints don on my car i think my radio reception is getting worst in some places can tint do that. I also have a nav-tv in the car with a fm modulator if this modulator goes bad can it case the receplion problems or what conection beside the one behind the radio can i check to make sure everything is fine with my antena. Also is the antena bild in the rear window and is it through out the whole window or just couple lines of the difroster and is it conected to difroster or is it seprate.

 

The tint is probably not doing it (it's on the inside of the glass, right?). 99% sure it's the rf modulator gone bad or the ant cable has popped out.

On the rear window, most of the lines are the defrost but a few are the antenna. You'll go cross-eyed trying to trace out which is which. There will be a coax antenna line coming from the lower corner of the window. It may be visible from the trunk or you might have to pull out the rear seat & fish around. The cable then runds thru the cable tray under the door sills to the dash.

This is all based on a 2000 ES300, but yours is probably similar.
