2006 lexus gs audio issues
Hello,
ALL of my speakers will completely shut off if i turn the volume past 38-40. The radio is still on but no sound from the speakers. If i turn the volume back down to low 30s it will begin to play normally.
I have already tried swapping out the Mark Levonson amp with a friend and it still had the same issue.
Any idea why this might be happening?

One ofbyour speakers is blown. When you are pushing it to its limit the impedance of it can damage the amplifier. The amplifier instead goes into protect mode in order to save itself instead of dying a slow death by forcing itself to keep playing through that damaged speaker.
Thus why you hear no sound. It shuts it all off to protect itself

gotta do it the hard way, unplug speaker one at t time and test at loud volume until you come to one that is not causing it to stop playing.
or before doing down, put your ear right up against the speaker and see which one sounds abnormal.
