I'm updating a custom cell phone install in my 2001 LS430. Old phone was Moto StarTac 7868 with Moto hands free kit. It was installed in the center armrest, using the lighter in the console for power. Worked perfectly -- on with car, off with car, etc.

Now the new setup -- Moto T720 phone with the matching Moto hands free kit. Problem is that the new phone will not turn on when car is turned on. It only goes into "charge" mode. Then when you shut down the car, the phone stays on, but changes to its internal battery. Neither Verizon nor Motorola knows the answer. All of the software options are set correctly (per Motorola and Verizon customer service techs).

Any ideas? TIA
