I'm already using an android setup in my car at the moment that uses a Sony Xperia SP phone as the android device, but it has a few limitations:
1. Cannot (easily) hook the GPS antenna of the phone to the aerial of the car.
2. Cannot get the FM radio on the phone to send audio via HDMI.
3. Quite slow, considering low-end processor and sony bloatware.

I ordered the ODROID U3 stuff yesterday and I guess it'll be a while until I get it.

 

Interesting. ..I'm curious to see how this plays out..will this set up require a direct plug in or will wifi/bt connection be used to control the phone

I had the exact same plan as you, but I figured to use a cheap china android phone instead since it will have a cell data connection. Then getting a usb hdtv tuner for it.

But after thinking about it more, anything that has hdmi out and can work with a bluetooth mouse can work with the ivic.
I am thinking about just making a mini pc running win8.

I cant get an ivic 6d as vaistech says they wont have more until october.
I did order one from a 3rd party reselling website, but I have a feeling they will just cancel my order.

I have a 2011 ct200h and the stock radio/nav is just junk and embarrassing for lexus.
