I am having a bit of problem with AC/Radio systems on my 2006 IS250. I would appreciate your feedback. I had recently replaced the battery and i'm not sure if it can be related to battery disconnecting issues. Here is what's going on.
1. AC/heater/fan do not turn on. Display background lights are on.
2. Radio/CD/Aux function but the display readings (radio statin #, tracker #) are absent. Background light is on.
I have double checked all the fuses, they all look fine.
there are separate fuses in both the driver side and passenger side fuse box (under the dash) so make sure its not either or. Make sure you pull them out and find that its not broken fuse at all. If its not that, then it could be the center radio/hvac unit is going bad
Then the radio unit must be going bad. Time for a new one if yours is not responding
The same thing happens on my vehicle, when I pull the main speaker harness from behind the CD changer.
The fix according to aftermarket harness companies (Metra, PAC etc) is to use a 68 ohm 1/2 watt resistor. You have to find the 2 wires to bridge with the resistor. I have the wiring diagram for our audio system. I'm actually in the process of receiving a mod for my vehicle where I have to do this whole thing in-depth.
If the radio is going and you were ever thinking of changing the CD changer for a different head unit, now would be the time to do it. I've been doing some extensive research (and I mean years worth in my spare time anyway) and everybody on the forums makes it sound harder than it may actually be.
Something to ponder. If you need the wiring diagram, PM me.
