Default Amplifier & Speakers

I have the stock radio for the LS 400. I was wondering if its posible (or even a good idea) to replace the amp and speakers and leave the head unit in order to give my system some punch. What are your thoughts.

Cool

Give it a try you just might like the results.

On the car I had before 1994 Celsior I didnt want to replace my stock TV/Nav/Cd player and thats what I did.

It sounded great.

When I 1st tried it I didnt think it would work out. I already had the head unit all picked out as a replacement.

I was wondering the exact same thing about 6 months ago. Since then I have bought a new JL Audio W6 version2 and JL Audio 500/1 Monoblock sub. In all the two cost around $1,000 , but after I got it professionally installed through the stock head unit, DAAAAAAAAAAAMN that combonation shoves and will embaress a lot of rices who think they are somebody with a PAIR of **** poor 12s in thier trunk. If wanna know more just ask.

Default SET UP

I have 98 GS and I changed out the stock speakers w/diamond audio....changed the sub to a 12" Solobaric in a plexiglass box ported thru the opening of existing 10" sub...put a 800watt 5-channel kenwood excellon amp....that wasn't gonna be enough, if i wanted to keep my stock head unit b/c i needed an equalizer to level out the sounds...i put a pioneer DEQ-9200 DSP audio processor to give it the finishing touches....with all of that it sounds incredible....well for me that is..for some it's not enough bass (i.e. my neighbor who puts nothing less than 4 12" solobarics in anything he drives) others are amazed that all of that sound is coming out of 1 12" sub.
