Default Playstation install

Hey guys. Quick question. Is there a way to hook up a playstation in a car without directly wiring it into the car or using a power inverter. Are there any battery packs for it, or can I somehow buy a adapter which would let me directly hook the playstation into the cigarette charger.

well i think you answered your own question. an inverter plugs right up into your cigarette lighter and it powers any portable or anything with a a/c cord given that it matches tha power input as the inverter....you have to make sure to check the power of the playstation and depending on that, you buy the inverter that will be complementary to the current...hope i answered your question

how good are you with electronics, ie soldering, opening the playstation out, if I email you the schematic can you do it your self? the only proper way to do this is to open the playstation out and adding a high current 12V regulator inside the power supply unit of the playstation. This will allow the car power to running directly to the playstation (a lot more efficient than using the inverter). (i am refering to playstation 2, but it can be done to ps1 also)
if really want it, send the unit to me, I can do it for you.
