no no, i think there are two leads from out of the stock amp to the mid range in the door and another lead for the tweeter. if it is like that, then what do i do,

but i must say good point, if there is just one lead with a capacitor on the tweeter, if that is the case then istalation is simple. i know how to hook them up. so ill try to check and follow the speaker leads. or ask around, maybe someone knows for sure.

Is it that you didnt get a manual...or you are just not wanting to read it?

Your set of separates are not bi-amplifier ready. So you need to use the one pair of wires set for the mid range.

for your information, i did read the manual and i already knew how to hook up a component set.

if u read my posts carefully, ull understand what im trying to ask. its not a question of biamplifing the speakers, its just that the front speakers are already crossover for tweeters and midrange. so why cant i jsut hook the speakers up without the aftermarket crossover.

DJ,

Arm yourself with as much info as possible. I would strongly suggest a trip to the Lexus dealership for a photocopy of the Electrical wiring diagram for your vehicle. Specifically the audio/amp section. The better dealerships will provide this free of charge.

Percy...

what if i do this.

hook up a small full range or a sub to the stock tweeter output JUST TO TEST if there is any low end output or just the upper freq range plays. that way ill be able to tell if it is crossed over or not.

also is this possible.

can i just connect the stock tweeter output to the infinity crossover (like a normal hookup from an amp) then just plug the infinty tweeter to the infinity crossover.
then the only thing that wont be hooked up to the infinity crossover would be the midrange speaker.

wouldnt that just be the easiest way to do it, since u cant damage the midrange by NOT hooking it up to the crossover.

DJ,

You could do this, but the real reason is why? If there's a cap present, it's crossed over.

I wouldn't suggest connecting the stock tweeter output to the aftermarket crossover and then to the tweeter. You'll change the frequency point and the slope. Remember the "Keep it simple" rule.

Have you received the schematic from the dealership?

No, i havnt receieved the wireing diagram yet, i havnt even been to a dealership to ask yet. damn

so ur saying not to hook up the aftermarket crossover to the tweeter (bc then it would be like hooking up two x-overs and slopes would be all changed)

then how about this,,,,
why dont i jsut hook up the aftermarket speakers to the stock wire leads. without the extra crossover. (the stock wires have to be running the right frequesncies to each speaker so that should work. UNLESS..... the capacitor or crossover for the factory tweeter is built into the tweeter.

DJ,

When you get the schematic for the RX, let me know. Then we'll chat. In the meantime I would suggest leaving the speakers alone for now until you have the schematic in hand. It's all guesswork until the schematic/wiring diagram is actually seen - don't want to take a chance on blowing out anything!

PCMW, as to what u said in an earlier response,

just use the speaker wire from the door bc the tweeter is tapped off of it, etc

so should i just plug the door speaker wire into the infinity crossover then run wires out to the infinity midrange and another NEW SET of wires to the infinity tweeters, and just disregaurd the old tweeter wires?

bc with this thinking....... there is a full range audio going to the door speaker . and the speaker just has a cap on it too. as well as the tweeter.
but that doesnt make sense.

DJ,

I understand you are trying your best, however, like Percy already said twice, get the schematics first and then go from there. Anything else is just speculation.

I really think that you need to read the instructions and act accordingly. They didn't put the crossover in the box for no reason. I think if you want to go and do something other than that, you should hire someone knowledgable to meet your needs.

Good Luck.

well ok, i went over to the lexus dealership by my school adn they gave me the wireing schematics.
from the looks of it, it looks like the tweeter is just tapped off of the door speaker.
theres only one set of outputs from the amp. then it spits into two for the tweeter and door speaker. so does that make sence. thats what u were tellin me b4 right?

um...yeah

I told you that in the FIRST REPLY.

You were confident that they ran separate wires.....

I told you to install them via the instructions state....

You are confident you can do it otherwise...

Why is it that you want to ask a question then challenge the answer? Why would I want to help you further? I am a pretty helpful guy but get tired of trying to teach know it alls. just kidding.

Again, if you need MORE help than what has been said over and over, then you need to find a professional.
