Default 2008 GS 350 Mid/Tweeter Feed NON M/L

Hey Guys I have a 2008 GS 350 NON M/L and I want to upgrade the speakers in the car. I'm only interested in swapping the speakers for now and later on down the road add an amp to the system. Anyway I wanted to know if there is a separate feed for the dash tweeter and woofer or is there a feed from a crossover in the door. If possible I would like to get a separate tweeter and woofer for the front doors and just use the factory wiring to connect the system. I apologize if my terminology is incorrect I'm not too familiar with aftermarket audio systems. Also I have heard that component speakers sound better but I would have no idea how to run it and also with me using the factory amp would that not end up messing with sound quality if there is already a cross over in the door? Also is there a crossover in the rear doors because if so I would like to do the same with the front just a set of coaxial 2 way woofers and a 1" tweeter in the OEM location. What are the door speaker sizes, metra says 6 1/2 and cruthfield says 5 1/4. Which one will fit without any cutting? Are there any aftermarket speaker adapters so I don't have to cut the speaker connectors off?

There are no crossovers in either the front or rear doors. The tweeters just have a capacitor that crosses them over and the woofers run full range. They are wired a little different as the speaker wires run to the tweeters first and then to the woofers. I tapped into the main wire at the tweeters in the dash and ran them to the crossovers and back to the wires powering the dash tweeters and door speakers. It wasn't that difficult, but I am a pretty experienced installer. If you are not very experienced, you might want to have a shop do it.

thanks for the info also is there a mounting depth issue I can't see why crutchfield would say they wouldn't fit the 6.5

I was able to fit a pair of Focal 165v30 with a 3/4" spacer, but they just barely fit without hitting the window.
