Default Sub in a 96 GS300

Hi, I am trying to find out from those that have gone before me as to how hard it will be to add a sub and amp to the 96 GS300. I have done a search but the info I get back is very vauge. Can I just use a line converter on the current sub to power the new amp?

Any help on this would be great....

Thanks

before i put in my real sound system i ran a LLC to add 2 10" JL subs to the stock headunit. it sounds ok but if you really want sound quality change out the headunit and get one with F, R, and subput.

But if you don't have the money right now you can just tap into the speaker output AFTER the signal is boosted through the amp. you can pick up a LLC for like 20 bucks at bestbuys or any stereo shop. no need for one more than 20 bucks or so.

After you have your LLC in you have to run a power cable from the battery to the trunk which is the hardest part of the installation. Just run the cable from the front of the engine to the back of the engine and you will see a rubber sealant that has a bundle of wires. cut a small hole in the rubber and slide the power cable through. then it drops down. here you have a couple of choices of how you want to enter the car. its very hard. the way i did it was that when the power cable came down it came down where the door was. there is another rubber piece that that holds the cable for the power windows and crap. just cut another hole in that thing and run it through there. this one is going to be hard. after its inside your car pull up all the plastic that holds the carpet down. stick all the cables under there all the way to the back seat. thats pretty much all the hard part. the rest is selt explanitory when you get there. if you get stuck just post up here.

Oh btw, don't bother with 8 gauge its too thin use 4 guage that why you have headroom to upgrade later. 4 gauge its a little harder to run but it's not that much harder than 8. plus it'll save you money in the long.
