No Power In My Car???? Help***

today when i got out to the car i stuck the key in and the steering wheel moved down half way and everything just stopped. NO POWER AT ALL. all the interior light went out. the dinging sound stopped. the door open light went out. everything just went dead. so i popped the hood and looked inside and heard a small click then all the power came back on again. i was like WTF.

so then i get in the car start it and drive to school. when i got out of class same **** happen again. this time i pop the hood and wait like 15 sec and no clicking noise but all the power just came back.

in these 2 incidents all my time and radio station and everything got reseted.

what could be the problem??? the only recent change was that i changed to a yellow top battery. i checked all the cables and everything seems to be tight and good. HELP ME!!!

need new battery and get our alternator check also

I think he already has a new battery. Yellow top in fact. That is such a weird prob you are having. I has to be a bad connection somewhere, man. I know you already looked but what else could it be?

My guess would be an intermittent ground problem. Check your grounds...

hey guys i just figured out the problem Tim is right. when i had my old battery all this red stuff built up on the ground connector and i didn't bother to clean it off before i stuck it on the new battery. so it happend a third time so i just wiggled the ground and everything came back up. so i went home took a rag and wiped away all the red. i think that is the fix.

You might want to get yourself a battery terminal cleaner, corrosion protection gel, and/or battery terminal washers. This stuff can be used to properly clean your connections, then protect against the corrosion happening again.
