HELP with RX300 factory stereo removal
Hello, I have a 1999 RX300 and I have all of my new ausio and video equipment installed and wires ran, but I can not figure out how to properly take the old factory radio out or even get behind it. I have built many many systems but I just bought the RX300 and this is my first time installing in one as well. So before I try anything I figured I wouls ask. Thanks in advance! (and once I am finished I will post pics for everyone!)
this has been talked about many many times b4, try using the search feature in the future. but for now ill briefly explain. first pop out the wooden panel. prying it at the bottem first usually helps, then there are 4 bolts on the sides of the stereo, unscrew them and then the whole front stereo/lcd display/ac vents comes out. u have to tug on it bc that too also pops out.
thanks for the reply, i did search all over the forum, there are no instructions on how to do it. my only question is how do you get the wood trim off? just pry it? i did pry a little at it and it started to dent it a little? any advice? thanks again!
u started to dent it???? try this, use the smallest slotted screwdriver u have, (tape the end of it so it doesnt scratch the wood) and stick it in the bottom part where it starts to curve up. anywhere usually on the bottm pops out pretty easily, just gotta be bold and use a littel force. i know its scary. oh heres another tip, after u get the screw driver in there, try living it in there and use another slotted screwdriver to pry it again.
