Why are there few IASCA/USACi autosound competitions centered around the NYC area, or the Northeast in general? Are there competitions in the Northeast that are sponsored by other organizations? Or is there just no popularity around here?
Seems like the same thing around the Chicago area. I've only seen one soundoff (IASCA) and that's it. This was back in '97.
Funny story...I opened up the trunk for a store owner and drew about 30 people around the car during that event. One of them thought I was the McIntosh rep (ha!), another just plain freaked and a 3rd was saying "holy $..T!...you win on equipment alone!" But, alas, the system was non functional at the time....

Ive noticed that car audio isnt as big in the North East as it is in the South and out West. Have you checked iasca.com and soundoff.org? Im pretty sure stores would have some shows if nothing else. Down here (atlanta) we have a few smaller regional organizations besides IASCA and USACi but they pale in comparison.

Yeah, I've checked all the locations/dates on iasca.com and soundoff.org. Around here the only shows I've been able to find are sponsored by Tweeter at their store locations around the Northeast. These shows relatively small and can border on lame. I will apparently miss this year's Tweeter shows, as my install is not quite complete, still have a final dash panel to do to tidy things up. So on to next year, I guess.
I'm just really surprised, with as dense as the NYC area is, with music what it is in NYC, and with it probably being the country's center of hip-hop (and hence loud irritating bangin' cars) that there isn't way more going on here.
Thanks for the input.
Percy: I think anyone would have a heart attack after seeing your trunk. LOL. :-)
