Default Upgrading SC300/SC400/SOARER Speakers + Subwoofer

I need some technical help, I still don't completely understand which amps I should get, and which subwoofer I should get.

As of right now, I have my eyes set on some 6x9 and 6.5" speakers for the front and the rear. I'm not entirely sure which subwoofer to get for the rear and also the amp(s) to power the sub ad the speakers.

The 6X9 Speakers I'm looking at are the : JBL GTO928
Impedance Rating - 2 Ohms
RMS - 100W

The 6.5" Speakers for the front are the : JBL GTO 628
Impedance Rating - 2 Ohms
RMS - 60W

Subwoofer Location will be here (This is P.R.S.22's picture, hope he doesn't mind me using it for reference)
I've read that it's more ideal to get a "free-air" sub, but I don't really know where I can find a descent one? It also has to fit in that location because it's pretty shallow, I think P.R.S.22 has to cut a piece of wood to put under it so it'll fit.

The most complicated part is this 2 ohms and 4 ohms stuff? Also, I'm supposed to find an amp that has the same RMS power output as the speakers / subwoofer?

Someone please steer me in the right direction.. my project awaitssssss

How were you planning on getting the 6x9 back there?

For your front/rear speakers, you will probably want a 2 ohm capable 4 channel amp. For your sub, you will probably want a single channel or a bridgeable 2 channel amp. If you get a dual voice coil sub, they will usually come in 2 ohm or 4 ohm voice coil configurations and you will want to get the one that provides the correct load for your amp. If you have a 2 ohm capable sub amp, you will want a 4 ohm per voice coil sub and hook up the voice coils in parallel. If you have a 4 ohm sub amp, you will want the 2 ohm version so you can hook up the coils in series. Here's some basic info:

Personally, I'm going with an Image Dynamics ID10 D2 sub with an old PPI A300 2 channel amp. So since my amp is spec'ed at 4 ohm bridged, I need the 2 ohm (D2) version of the sub so that I can hook up the voice coils in series to produce a 4 ohm load to match my amp. I've used Image Dynamics for the last 10 years and have always been happy w/ their stuff so I'm sticking w/ them, but I think Elemental Designs also has some subs that work well in free air applications.

Also, I would consider getting better 6.5" door speakers and maybe just leaving stock 6x9 rear speakers. You're not really going to get great sound out of those rear speakers anyway since they're going to be right next to the sub.
