Hey guys, I'm new to the board and Lexus (just picked up a beautiful '92 SC400!). Of course, for me at least, the first thing in order is the sound system. It has the Pioneer system I think. Car is getting shipped sometime next week so I haven't had a chance to take a first-hand look. My questions were:

Has anyone fabbed up some kickpanels for the SC400? Q-logic makes a discontinued kickpanel available at a few online retailers.. it would be a somewhat easy route but would need some work to sound good. What sits behind those panels? Anything that can't be moved? I have Dynaudio System 240GT components from my last car and they are 6.5" drivers.. they perform better in a sealed enclosure so I need some airspace that unfortunately might not exist. Any ideas? I really don't want to get rid of them -- they are absolute bliss to listen to.

Also, I have an Optima D31T battery, its a bit wide but do you guys think it will fit? Thanks in advance!

Stick with the Dyns. You'll have to tune out the 1khz region due to the lack of airspace and bump up the region below 250hz. I ran the same speakers in a different car that had virtually zero space behind them.

Tune em out and you'll do fine.

thanks Percy, I'll follow your advice but are you talking about the stock placement? or in kick panels (open air or sealed?) thanks again
