Default ML DVD Audio problem Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

Just acquired a new 2008 GS460 with ML system. Thrilled that it reads DVD Audio, since I have a decent collection of these audiophonic gems.

However, I have found when playing Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, there are instruments not audible between the 4 minute and 6 minute points of Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding. I'm not referring to a lack of sound, but just missing instruments (guitar solo and synthesizer passage). I have confirmed its not the media as the missing passages are present when playing on my home theater system. I have also verified that I am playing the Surround Sound layer and ML PPCM (what is PPCM? I know what linear PCM is).

I'm curious if anyone else with the same sound system and DVD-A has experienced the same thing. Or even experienced something similar with another DVD-A.

I plan to speak with my dealership about this on my first service call. Its possible that maybe a firmware upgrade from ML may resolve the problem, or maybe its the unit itself (I haven't tested on another car with Mark Levinson).

Any info or knowledge about this problem would be appreciated.

Thx . . . . . .
