Hi Folks,

OK, I've looked everywhere, but I can't seem to find a wiring diagram for my application. Help!

I have a stock Pioneer "Premium Sound System" in a 2000 SC300.

For some reason, this unit (Pioneer model # KEX-M8886ZT) differs from the 1992-1999 Naks and Pioneers, as none of the other wiring diagrams in any of the links in this forum seem to match up with it.

I read somewhere that the 2000 & up stock Pioneers differed in that they communicate digitally with the stock amp- maybe that's why the pinouts are different from all the other wiring diagrams I've seen?!!! That's just a guess, however.

I've attached picture of what the back of this Pioneer looks like with the model/serial number label superimposed in a red rectangle on top.

Obviously, I'm considering replacing the stock unit with something aftermarket. I'd prefer to try to use the existing amp and sub (even though it's crap), so a wiring diagram would be essentially before I can take the next step.

believe it not it is the same wirng diagram as the pioneer 1998 to 2000 gs400. everthing is the same . same amp, same wiring. its a 2000 gs radio stuffed into a sc400 radio housing. so just find a gs400 pioneer radio diagram and it is the same. pioneer went digital in 1998 so all radios after that are digital not analog like the 98 and before sc300. ....................................................so both 99 and 2000 sc400 radios are digital gs400 radios in side of them. the connectors are even the same.6 and 10 pin power plug and 5 pin antenna control plug. so you could plug an sc400 2000 radio in a gs400 and it would work perfectly . .it wont fit in the dash but it would work. thats also why you cant get navigation in 98 to 2000 ls and gs in nakamichi. only supported pioneer digital radios for nav. finally in 2001 mark levinson could be ordered with nav so to have both nav with the top stereo system.

So, if the stock Pioneer in the 2000 SC300 is the same as the stock Pioneer in the 1998 to 2000 GS400, then does that mean there's no chance of me using the stock amp and sub with an aftermarket stereo?

i am an oem lexus audio expert not a aftermarket install to a lexus expert. but what it does mean if you can find posts by 98 to 2000 gs owners successs at using aftermarket headunit with thier factory amp and speakers you will be also be able to do it, usually the avc lan system headunit controls the communication to the slve units with communication wiring which isnt present in aftermarket units.there have been some adapters to attempt this but i dont know how well they work. ALSO THEY DONT CONNCT TO THE UNUSUALL CONNECTORS ON THE BACK OF YOUR RADIO AS THEY ARE SC400 AND GS ONLY PLUGS. NO OTHER LEXUS HAS THOSE TYPE OF PLUGS. the plugs look like standard toyota plugs but they are not. there are power wires to both the 6 pin plug and the 10 pin plug. toyota only has power wires going to the 10 pin plug.

Unfortunately, all of the GS wiring diagrams I can find seem to differ in that:

1. They don't include the volume/on/off **** that the 2000 SC300 has, which is physically separate from the stock head unit;

and

2. the GS Pioneer unit seems to be involved with the interior lights, but the SC's Pioneer unit isn't.

So, I'm still wondering if someone has a wiring diagram for the stock Pioneer in a 2000 SC300?

Does anyone know where I can buy the wiring diagram for the stock Pioneer in a 2000 SC300?
