Well I have alot of bass coming from my trunk. All I had to do is completely remove the factory subwoofer. This lets all the bass come through the hole into the main cabin of my car.

I agree with the last post. I wish I had the pics of my old install, but my sub faced rearward in a regular ol' 1 cubic ft sealed box and i had my stock sub removed. It was non functional and not worth a penny to me so I totally removed that thing and somehow destroyed it too.

I'm about to try an aftermarket amp on our stock sub in the 99 es though and just use the high level inputs on the amp with the stock speaker wires for signal and turn-on function with one power wire to run for the whole setup. People say that sounds good too...

Image dynamics makes a good freeair suitable 8" sub too that would work great but I think there's a clearance issue with the gas tank and sending unit now that I recall...

Man it got LOUD in my car with one 12 and 500w rms....

heh... its not that you can't make it loud...

its just that the same setup in a hatchback or other car without a fuel tank between the trunk and the passenger compartment would be ridiculously louder than it is in our cars...

Removing the metal plate will make a big difference. I've had my little Kicker ten playing temporarily in the spare tire well with the seat back in and it pounds. The new JL 13TW5 is really going to sound good.
