any ideas where to get a set of new keys for my 92 sc been driving this for 4 years and still only have 1 key ! and it won't open the trunk..dealer up hear wans$400 for a set of 2 WTF???? damn near buy a whole car for that LOL checked w/ ebay but no blank keys so far...

but are the blanks the same for first gen. and second gen??? all I found were used blanks and can't see that helping me!

 

Sewell Lexus is the place I bought mine from online. Lots of threads on this if you would have searched, but I will note that they recently appear to have stopped using www.lexus-parts.com, and started using www.sewellpartsonline.com for their online store. As such, links in the old threads no longer work.

If you browse around their online store, there is a Keys section. If I tell it I have a 1992 SC400, it gives me the following page with keys on it :

Take your pick. The "Master Non-remote Key" is what most people are after.

You will need to provide them with your VIN number so they can cut the proper key, and they also require you fax them proof of ownership. I personally ordered keys from them this past fall after someone else on here recommended them, and they arrived quickly by FedEx and worked perfectly.
