Exclamation Problem with security system need help!

OK.. anyone with a suggestion?
The battery in the key died. I am able to get into the car but the security system is engaged and I cannot get the car to start.
I called my local Lexus dealer and explained and they said that the system can be reset by putting in the drivers side door and locking and unlocking it. ( It will take 2 weeks to get a new key) I have tried it many times.. it does not work..
So my question is how do you manually disengage or reset the security system on a 1995 SC400??

Please tell me that someone knows how to fix this!!
Thanks in advance!

Why do you have to get a new key, if you the battery died? Just replace the battery...unless I'am reading it wrong

The key is now broken where the battery goes. The metal clip is bent or something.....
I have tried it with the door closed. Should I do it open??
