Default Orion 2500?

My freind just recently bought a car and the owner let him keep the amp that was in the trunk. Its an Orion 2500. I looked it up online but it doesnt look like any of the pictures online so i think its an older one? Its hooked up with some huuuge gauge wire to a 3200 watt cap. So im guessing this thing can put out LOTS of power.

Anyone wanna let me know how much its worth?Ill get pictures soon.

Caps aren't rated in watts. They are rated in farads.

hmm my bad. Im not familair with caps, but i saw 3200 watts on the side. I guess thats just how much it can handle?

its a 500 watt 2 channel amp. is it the older black one or red or blue?

Again, it doesn't handle anything. It stores voltage and releases it quickly. Most people use think they need them when their headlights dim on bass notes. Adding one is like putting a Band-Aid on a 9mm bullet wound. First you should do the Big 3 upgrade to your electrical system. Then a better battery. If you still have dimming, then a larger alternator is required. Finally, you can add a cap. But not one of these little 1 farad models. A 20 farad bat-cap is getting large enough to actually help. The small ones just tax your electrical system more than not having a cap.

post pic of the amp. and what robert says is true, caps are a waste for most people 99% of the time.
