My radio display in my GS often goes haywire at times with all the numbers and letters start changing to different shapes and going in and out, sometimes the screen just stays blank for awhile, other times the display works just fine. Fortunately it still works and plays cds, tapes fine it is just you can hardly read the numbers and display and what is going on because everything is changing and flashing. This started happening shortly after I put a seperate sirius receiver in the car about a year and a half ago and have sirius playing through a station on the lexus radio but I don't know why sirius would cause this. Anybody have the same problem and is there a fix. I am not going to spend too much or replace the radio since it works just the display goes in and out and starts putting up a bunch of different shapes and weird effects.

 

found this thread but not a resolution to it...just bought my 2gs and started to notice the same thing with the radio. Hey UDel, did you get this fixed? Does it get worse? Original owner still had factory warranty so I would like to know if he should really worry about this

 

heres a pic...radio is still playing but the screen just displays crazy stuff(somtimes it just goes blank). does this mean my radio is fixing to go out? lol u guys notice my a/c control panel is peeling...it was like that when i bought it, looks like something spilled on it and peeled away some texture of it(any suggestions?)

 

Yeah. New radio and paint the AC controller.

 

My screen will display all kinds of crazy symbols, numbers, letters at times, but the display will also work perfectly fine at times. It does not seem to be getting worse and the radio/cd player still works fine so I don't see any reason to replace it or spend money trying to fix it. The display actually seems to be working a little better now.
