The members that have been on the board for a while - they know how picky I am when it comes to sound QUALITY.

Hard dome tweeters still have the RINGING problem, no matter how well "damped" they appear to be. Dyns are soft dome tweeters. MBQ can tout "strength" all they want, but when you ask them point blank about "ringing", they give you a blank stare. One of the high level techs at MBQ admitted to the ringing problem also.

One of the most accurate tweeters in the world, the ESOTAR T330D (and the new ESOTAR 2) are considered THE top of the chain, bar none. And yes, they're soft dome tweeters.

Give em a listen. If you're into SOUND QUALITY, you won't go back to anything else.
Which Dynaudio components do you recommend? Esotec System 362?

The great sound quality comes at both a monetary and and packaging cost. Check the mounting depth required by some of those Dyn woofers and you will know what I mean. Deep cast baskets take lots of room.

Somebody was talking about trying to do a full Dynaudio "drop in" (stock position) install a while back, you might search the forum for that thread and see if it ever came to fruition. Check the price to make sure they are realistically in your price range too. Some people blanch at the $$$$.

The esotec 362 is an awesome system. As CRB mentioned, check the basket clearance to make sure that your window doesn't hit the speaker as it's rolling down. Dyn does make a MW160GT that has a thinner basket that may be suitable for drop in applications.

I'm moving this thread to my domain, car audio/electronics. Look for it there.
