I have a 99 GS400 that I just put in a ML navigation unit, many thanks to KrBurell, would there be any gain in sound quality with the ML amp over the stock amp? The speakers would still be the stock set that came in the car.

Stock speaker swapout would make much more of a difference than an amp swapout anyday.

I have a stock system with just a dyn swapout - and it sounds better than the ML equipped GS430 and even the LS430 that I was in. And that was tuning for best sound.

Dynaudio MW160 for the front with a custom baffle. Dynaudio MD100 for the pillars. You'll have to take them out of their casing and do some mods. Dyn MW160 for the rears also. Sub in the back is a 10 incher and you can mount a 12 under the stock location if done correctly.

Just a swapout of the door speakers and tweeters yielded better than ML staging and depth. Far better. The salespeople couldn't believe their ears when they heard the system.
