Default Questions re: a/d/s amplifiers

I have a chance to get an a/d/s P640, and/or P440. How are these amps SQ-wise? I am in the process of piecing together a system for my GS, and want to focus on sound quality. I would really like to get a hold of some McIntosh amps, but am unable to right now. How do the a/d/s amps stand up to the Mc's? And what do I do when I need something repaired?

Not much can stand up to the Mc products in real life. As for a/d/s/, didn't they change hands? If you have a problem with the ads products, go back to the manufacturer. I know that the older ads company was fairly good. Don't know about now though.

U should look into some Zed Audio amplifiers. Great prices for great amplifiers. Compare them to the CDT SQ amplifiers I bet u wont find a difference besides the badge and color

Thanks. The one I am looking at now is a 630x Powerplate edition.

I haven't keept up with the A/D/S amps in a long time, but when I rean my PQ10 and PQ5 in my car back in the early 90s, it was one of the cleanest sounding amps I heard at that time. I loved it.

Oh well, I placed a couple of bids before I went to bed on some old Kicker amps, thinking I would be outbid. The a/d/s amps weren't ending for a few more days. As it turns out, I won both auctions; a 100si and x100s. They'll match nicely with the 500ss I still have stored away in my closet.
