Exclamation Need Tech Help for iPod VAIS in Lexus!

I need some help!

I recently had a VAIS SoundLinQ2 - SL2i installed in my 2008 Lexus RX350. Now my fifth generation video iPod works really well with the steering wheel controls and sounds great. My question is why won't the touch screen work with my Nav system screen? It shows a screen in the owner's manual of the VAIS SoundLinQ2 - SL2i and looks like it should work with my iPod. Here are some photos of the screens that I get. I do get text in the radio area instead of on the touch screen. I also notice that my upper left hand corner of the touch screen says "CD Changer2" instead of "CD Changer".

I went to the web site for the VAIS SoundLinQ2 - SL2i also and it shows a user screen on the touch screen that I don't have.
VAIS SoundLinQ2 - SL2i

I talked with the installers and they said that this is all it does and I don't get touch screen controls with my unit. I think they are wrong and hooked it up wrong. So does anybody know if I am right? I want to know what I am talking about before I take it back in if it is indeed installed wrong. It sure would be nice to have the touch screen work like the ones I've seen pictured.

Thanks in advance!!!

Well I found out the answer...

I emailed VAIS Technology and they told me I would be able to play my iPod through the Nav screen if my installer programmed the unit in CD-MP3 emulation. So I have to ask the installer to reprogram the unit.

Just got off the phone with them and they told me to bring it back in and they will fix it!

For what it's worth....

I have a VaisTech interface in my 07 ES350 with ML and Nav. This is the second unit I have had. The first one worked with the touch screen on the Nav perfectly except for the stupid speed lockouts. As long as I was stopped you could see the play lists and access songs on the play list, scrolling 6 at a time (you are using playlists, right?). The unit was replaced because a really poor service adviser got a hair up his a$$ and said that it was problematic and not compatible with the Nav system though it worked fine for 3 months after installation. The new unit worked as yours does now. According to VaisTech there is something in the internal programming that they ship to California units to keep them from bothering the driver with information. When the tech called VaisTech they were more than happy to supply the appropriate settings for the unit. Unfortunately mine does not override the "I agree" screen (big deal). If you want to get rid of the speed lockout see Sonartech's nicely documented fix in the ES350 forum (it's a sticky).
