remote cycles the locks
New to Lexus, but my 11th Toyota product over the years (9 Supras & a Landcrusher). I'm usually pretty good about finding stuff with the search, for instance, I found the little trick about soldering the brake wear indicator - works like a charm. Lots of threads on programming remotes, but didn't see where anyone else had this problem. Vehicle 99 LS400:
After work today, 'unlock' just cycled the locks so I opened door with the key the old-fashioned way. When I got home, 'lock' just cycled the locks so I locked the door the old-fashioned way. Following that, 'unlock' functioned fine, but 'lock' continued to cycle the locks each time. Pulled out the FSRM expecting to start diagnosing the locks and was confounded by sentences such as "As of the unlock operation times adjustment function of body customize function, when using Lexus handheld tester to set operation twice, only the drivers seat is unlocked by unlock operation performed once - Yes or No." I swear it loses something in the translation from Japanese. By the time I got the jist of what it was saying to do, the remotes had started to operate normally again as mysteriously as they screwed up. Anyone seen this behaviour before and know what's going on with the remotes (both remotes did the same thing)?
