Yeah-- that' s the only trouble-- but some will -- I convinced a lady to ship me her polk Rm2300 5pc satellite system WITH a powered polk sub-- all in perfect condition, for $125-- plus actual shipping-- I opened a free DHL acct. and emailed her a label-- That makes it easy for folks if you email them the label prepaid-- they just stick it on and drop the box off-- makes it easier to convince them to ship it-- The acct. is free to open and they're the cheapest shipping prices out there while being one of the fastest shippers I've used-- But as with any shipper-- make sure they pack it well-- tell them 3 times to pack it well--

IF thats the 600w rms (rated) amp-- it's the one I had-- it's an older model that was just plain weak llike a sony bro-- like it was not only Chinese made, but cheaply made in China-- There are much better fish in the sea--

Amps will either be class A/B or Class D, unless it's a tube amp-- which are very rare and expensive--

A certain amt. of heat is ok-- components operate up to 200~ F -- give or take-- I'm not sure on the exact heat range -- but a little heat is normal--

Class D amps have a very narrow frequency response, like from 20 - 400 hz in most cases-- so all the power being converted into sound is only converted into that narrow frequency bandwidth, thus using power more efficiently, but only good for subs -- This is why they draw less current to do the same task- Usually about half the current of a class A/B switching amp-- which reproduces a very wide frequency bandwidth-- like from 15hz to 30khz --

The efficiency ratings tell you basically how much power/current is converted to actual usable power at the outputs vs. heat-- Class D range in the 65% efficiency area, while A/B amps range in the 30% area-- and that other power turns into heat-- a lot of heat-- and it's very normal--

A 500W class A/B amp will draw a good bit of current, but will sound really good and can be used for a high end component set as a 2ch @ 4 ohm stereo-

You have to be sure to match your subs ohm ratings with the proper amp though--

I always think it's a good idea to just get a good 1000w class D monoblock like a MTX 1500dx or an 81000d or 6500d, or a memphis st1000d or a RF bd1000, among all the other ones I'm forgetting-- and run it half gain or half load-- so it's ready for that mean a$$ sub down the road when you decide to move up-- no more shopping for sub amps either--

That amp should make about 600@12v and 700+@14.4v -- I'm not sure what voltage your car runs at-- but maybe 16v?? IF you can squeeze out 16v or more, that amp will do 775w rms--

It's worth a good bit in good condition, so I would contact him and see if he's willing to split up the subs and amp separately-- but both together would hammer, I've smoked a sub like those with 600w, but a pair would take it-- that sucker was pounding till it blew-- in a custom ported box I threw together....

See if he'll split em up, if not and you don't want his subs too, grab another one like it-- I forgot about the 6500d, but that's a great option-- very strong amp for 2 12's or one really healthy 12-- a TC-2000 comes to mind-- (tcsounds.com) --

WOW!- That's like the deal I got on mine-- It was $125 shipped-- new in box, and retailed for $700 -- 960w rms @ 1% THD --

You'll never need another sub amp-- and after this amp rips those subs in half, you can get a TCsounds db500 12 for $110 shipped-- with a 20mm xmax and you will then hear what a loud sub is-- and clean--

Nice find!
