Hi PD,
Read the full thread. Can you post a pinout for a 97 sc300? So I guess I have to do this behind the headunit? Also, I want to do the dock connecter with the power, where do I get the power from?

Thanks

Coco,
What exactly is the "connector" that you used, instead of soldering. I would rather do that, than messing with soldering.

Also one more thing, I don't see how to set up the switch(trigger)? I'm pretty inept when it comes to wiring.

Has anybody done this setup including the power to charge the ipod?

Thanks

it's just connectors from RadioShack...wish I could give you the parts number but I don't have it .

BTW, I completely rewired everything on the headunit side since the left channel wasn't working (again, me sucking at wiring) and now it sounds a lot better. No more background music of the CD anymore either.

Default Anyone have an extra one?

If anyone has an extra one of these that is completed I would love to take it off your hands. Or if anyone "enjoys" making these let me know how much I owe you. I have a 98 GS300 w/ pioneer. I've been looking for something like this for the pre 01 cars. Where do you guys come up with this stuff?

Thanks guys,

Gary

I just bought 4 relays for the project. regarding the switch that control relays, i will use one of the seat heater buttons which will give an OEM feeling and its easier to switch between CD and iPod

i dont think that the OEM seat heater buttons are SPST pushbuttons, rather they are momentary, which wont work.

thank you for you note, but I think it is SPST as it stays low on first press (also illuminated) and goes up for the next press (not illuminated) and also seat heater isnt ECU controlled. it is different from those say numbered 1,2...,5 which control the preset radio stations. those are definitely momentary buttons

anyway, i will pull it out and check if it is applicable

if you are serious of using the seat heater button, go getting a center console ashtray on model which has seat heaters. the buttons look nice and easy to access. i am thinking of getting it re-print something like AUX IN in place of the heater symbol

will keep everyone posted

Hi guys,

PureDrifter awesome write up! I have a 1992 SC400 with nakimichi. I want to tap the wires from the head unit. I'm going to be installing a HK Drive+Play this weekend so I thought I would do this Mod as well. Can you please tell me which wires (colors) I need to tap into from the headunit?

Thanks!
