Default ipod integration?

hey all, I did a lot of searching on this one, and i found a ton of information out there on this subject but i had a question or 2 that i couldnt figure out from all that searching, it seems the vaistech solutions wont work for the sc400, on their website they have a compatability chart and all the systems are for 2001 models and up, and only the sc430 is compatable (i have a 96 sc400)

and secondly, does our sound system have the aux input in the head unit? i want to know before i go digging through wires, thanks.

I installed a Harman Kardon unit in a 2006 Accord, it will work with your SC, it uses the pluges between the radio antena and comes with a screen.

btw there is a audio section here on CL, u should check it out.

i see that one of the ways it hooks up is by fm transmitting, i dont want to do this, so i need the other part of my question answered, do i have an aux in in my head unit? can i plug my ipod in instead of my tape deck or cd player? thanks for the response tho. and yes i know there is a sound system area, but this is so specific to the SC i thought it would be better to post here...

I had your same delimma back in the day and there is nothing to integrate your ipod into the Lex sys. I just bought a cassette tape adapter and the sound is great, much better than the FM mod route. Even if there was a way to integrate your ipod into the Lex sys the sound would not be any better than the cassette adapter option. I rented a dodge magnum in Co Cal while I was on a busines trip and it had a aux input, I hooked it up to my mp3 player and the sound sucked.......bottom line is ..get a cassete tape adapter for your ipod

the FM transmitter works very well, it uses the radio antenna input wire (it plugs into the radio).
