Default Nav question

Hello,

I have a 2005 LS 430 and picking up a 2007 GX 470 tommorow. This Navigation thing is driving me nutz where i have to stop in order to use it. I heard there is a hack out there that can "fix" my problem.

Also, i was told that i can watch DVD's on my Navigation screen...any truth to that?

Thanks in advance!

The override steps you see posted on the internet that work on earlier Lexus / Toyota nav systems won't work on the newer systems. It appears to be a firmware thing and so far no one has posted the steps for the new override.

Before you sign your papers and pick up your new car, you might want to try to use whatever leverage you have with your dealer to get them to show you the override steps.

I didn't know about this whole mess before I got my RX400. If I had, I would have made things very uncomfortable for them. I don't know if they would have relented, but it would have been worth a try.

Good luck, and if you do get the steps, please post them.

Thanks for the input WB578. The hack does work on my LS430 but looks like it doesnt work on the new GX470. Guess my wife will have to learn to live with it until someone figures one out
