Having problems with GS4 Nakamichi HU.....
Hey guys I am making threads like crazy tonight, I think I will make this my last one for tonight. But while I was up and active on this forum I remembered to ask if anybody else has experienced this problem I am having with my stock Nakamichi Head Unit.
alright let me try and explain this (seems like cold temp might be a affecting variable) i will turn the car on, and right away there will be this rapid ticking noise, and if I turn the music up, it affects the music by rapidly pausing it. you can even hear the noise when the volume is all the way down.
There is a remedy (sort of): If I turn the volume to a level where you can barely hear the music, the ticking usually goes away, then doesnt come back sometimes for a while, if at all. Until I use the car the next day.
Prev. owner advised me of the problem with the HU, and was the one that told me about how to get rid of it. After I got it in my possesion, car didnt do it at all for about 2 months, and now that it is cold, it does it every time I go and use it.
Just some facts about alterations to the sound system and how it is currently hooked up (all previous owners work):
1. Car has a aftermarket subwoofer, with the amp grounded to the body of the car..
2. Prev owner had stock Nak sub removed
3. not sure how the RCA's are ran in the car, appears to be a small box with RCA's (going to amp inputs) coming out one end and wires hooked up to what i believe were the connections to the stock NAK sub. Box looks in rough shape kinda like it was melted at one point
Well thats all I can think of for right now.
any ideas????? Otherwise, the HU works fine. I hope I didnt loose you guys thru all of that. But thanks for viewing and special thanks to those with feedback
