Need help, AVIC D2 install
Got mine installed and everything works even the sub! I'll post pics tonight of everyhting that was used to get this thing working. It took 5 hours to do and I had to have a pro help me after the first 2.5. BBY in Harlem/irving Mikhail is the man!
Wow! congrats on the successful installation
. Of course making the sub works is a welcome news for those of us who purchased the D1/D2(hope this is about D1 or D2 model
). Looking forward to see your pictures and installation advice.

I do not have either d1 or d2. I have a system by valor but it does the same things and more as the d1 and d2. I should have the pics up by friday. I am unhappy with a few minor things but for the most part I am pleased.
please let us know how you hooked up the factory sub. did you just hook up the amp turn on wire? i was going to do that but the harness i had didn't have an amp turn on wire? anyways let us know how you did it!
I had to test the wires with the Ohm meter and see what wires were the remote. I have to go back in there in the next few days to fix a few things when I do. I will take detailed pics and describe the actual colors for all those interested to give a Braney map of connecting the wires hopefully. it sounds awesome and I was so happy we got it to work. I just have to connect the driver side tweeter because I do not think it is on. Oops!
sweet so you use this to connect your aftermarket system to the factory speakers, right? or did you figure out a way to use the pioneer amp?
The entire stock wiring is still intact, so if I decide to go back to stock to sell the car, I just plug everything back into place.
Of course, I ditched the stock sub for my own subs and amp.
why did you use TWO PAIRS toyota harness's? i only used one pair of harness then extended the wires, wrapped the whole thing in 3M electrical tape and ran it to the spot where the radio is. of course the glove box is out so it is zip tied along with the car's wiring so it looks super clean. that wire loom way is pretty clean too tho but i don't get why you used TWO PAIRs of toyota harness? AND those are all MALE harnesses too??
If you look at the connectors, you'll see only one male connector. That's the one that has the extra bundled up wires and plugs into the stereo.
The shorter segment that contains the fuse is for power and ground and ACC stuff. Those wires were all originally at the original head unit.
The longer segment contains only the speaker wires.
The smaller plug on the speaker segment at the amp is the same as the plug that plugs into the original head unit.
I read your original post about grabbing the ignition wire from another source and was very confused. I couldn't figure out why you would say that since I wouldn't have grabbed this signal from anywhere other than the stereo wiring. Now I see that you ran the power wires from the same location as the original stock amp.
