Default LS400 Stereo Speaker Question

All of a sudden both the woofer and tweeter on my front passenger door started buzzing and crackling. Are the speakers themselves toast, or is their some other component or controller that might be the problem? It seemed odd that both speakers would coincidentally go out at the same time, but before investing in new speakers, is there some other component in the system that could be the problem? Thanks in advance for any help on this question.

John

the tweeter comes off the 4 inch door speaker so it means that channel of the amp is out. if the tweeeter still worked it would mean trhe 4 inch speaker is out.
