Default CDs skip or dont play at all.

Just wondering if anyone has this problem with their factory 12 disc changers. I tried to play a new CD that i just bought, and it would ERR on the system. I played a used burned cd, and it played fine. After that i decided to play some cds that were freshly burned and after every 10 seconds or so, the cds start to skip? What the heck?

Welcome to the 12 Disk Changer Club. Many people have experienced this before, i too have had the problem with the ERR, but for some reason its working now just fine, Fingers Crossed.

It could also be the CD. Some new CD's have backing coating problems in that the laser light does not shine/reflect back to the lens as well as necessary to play. Some CD players are more immune to this, some are not. Also CD players do not last forever and they also do get out of alignment. Riding around in the back of a car is probably not a great environment for a delicate electronic gizmo. So you will get to the frustrating point where some discs work and others do not for some unknown reason.

go out and get yourself the CD laser lens cleaner. It's probably just dirty. Get the one with the brush on the CD. Best buy has the Memorex one that costs about $13 or so. Cheap investment since you can use it for your computer, dvd player, anything that uses CDs.
