Alpine NVE-852A
Hi all, is the newest Nav from Alpine the 852A? How does it compares to the Pioneer AVIC-9DVD? The Pioneer has spilt screen (like the factory one from '01+ Lexus), does the Alpine has the same thing too? Could anyone give me some pictures during operation and also comments about both units?
Thank you sooooo much!

ARIST,
Look at this forum for NVE-N851A system from alpine.

The only difference between 851 and 852 is a remote control.
They both use the same DVD disk with software and mapinfo as far as I know.
You can get more information about 852 at this location:
http://www.alpine1.com/html/inside.html
Wait about 10 seconds and then press Virtual tour to see the system in operation

Slavik

The problem with the Pioneer AVIC-9DVD is its user interface. Very clunky, even though the graphics are kinda cool.
Example: try looking for two intersecting streets. When you type in the second street, the system should sort out streets only that intersect the first street.
Also, the choice of color palette in the Pioneer's system is very poor. The color scheme is very pastel-like, and fonts are small and thus its difficult to see especially when glancing at the screen while driving.
Lastly, anyone notice that the Pioneer DVD nav female voice and the Kenwood DVD nav English Female voice are EXACTLY THE SAME ??? Kinda makes you go HMMMMM....
