CD changer wiring 98 Gs300

Wondering if all 1998 Gs even if they dont have a cd changer if they came pre wired for it and if so can i just buy one and plug it into the amp under the glove box. My amp has an extra slot empty but i have no idea wat its for if anyone has a diagram or something that could be helpful or just simply explain how to tell if i have to just get a changer or a new amp to accomodate the changer i like the factory look of the head unit so i dont want to change it.
