Default No Remote Wire Signal

I disconnected my aftermarket amp (for subs) to move it to a more secure and discrete location in my trunk. While everything was disconnected, the remote wire touched bare metal and then immediately the stereo completely shut off, the antenna went down and the changer no longer is in standby mode (No light). However, the changer will still spit out the magazine when i push the button to eject it. Everything else electronic in the car works as it should. The only things that don't work are what runs on that Remote Signal line.

Any idea what could be happening here?

Welcome to CL.

First let me say that this should be in the electronics section. A mod will move this for you.

Next, this may sound simplistic, but since you didn't state that you did......I'm assuming you have not checked your fuses. One fuse box is one the kick panel by your left foot (drivers side of the car). The other is under the hood, behind the battery moving towards the cabin.

Start there.

I had checked the fuse box under the hood, but I didn't know about the set by the kick panel. It was a fuse. Thanks for the help

Check out the owners manual, it should indicate ware the radio fuse is located.
