Default sound difference? / ? from old post

i was reading this post

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...171#post802171

and was wondering if the front 6.5's would sound better if mdf board was used in the space of the original mounts. the way the 6.5's are here is built into the original front speaker mounts.

i was thinking if the front 6.5's had the space behind them open, they would produce sound better instead of being restricted by the way they are here. does any know or could someone elaborate? WI

It depends on the speaker you're putting in. Some will sound better with the back opened and using the entire door as a box and some will sound better in a smaller sealed box. It's best to contact your speaker manufacturer to see what they recommend.
