Trunk installs and Misc feedback
I have a pioneer deck that will feed a mono sub amp and a four channel separates amp.
The front gets a set of 6.5 separates and the rear gets a set of coaxials in the stock locations
The rear is a 12"sub. I would like to show the intall off a bit so I dont want the usual sub facing backwards with the amps in the floor.
I have a question about the front door speakers. My installer and I had hacked up the front door speaker pods a few years ago but they sound horrible. I want to build new door pods.
Do any of you guys have pix of custom door speaker pods ?
Post up some pix of your favorite trunk installs be it in a lexus or whatever.
Thanks
Sounds a lot like my setup. Simple but still a little showy.
My sub is inverted to make it a little different and the amps are side mounted at an angle (450.4 and 1000.1).
There's a lot more under the surface that you don't see in the final version... I like the interior OEM looking mainly and everything under stock grills. Trunk and spare are still useable.
Lots of buildup pics here, including rebuilding the speaker enclosures. Not sure if that's what you meant with 'pods' or if you meant the entire assembly including the speaker cover.

The door pods though, that is exactly what im after. Its hard to tell from your pix, but on my doors the mounting surface isnt flat. I may need to use spacers and glass it all together ?
Thanks!
James

Makes me happy when I see other W7's out there, I wanna star thinking about a custom install with my trunk. Just not quite sure how to do it, got the fuel tank behind the back wall in the SC so that limits my posibilities. A drawback to the W7 is that it requires a decent amount of airspace, and it's not a "shallow" sub either.
I like how you mounted your amps in the back. I made panels for the back of the trunk wall and mounted the amps to that so they sit on the back wall behind the sub box.
