Default Is this possible to do?

Hi. I just got my moms 2001 Lexus ES300. Its all stock right now but I have plans for 18" wheels and a sound system. I have a question though. I was told by my dad that its not possible to put a head unit in it because of the size. Is it possible to do this? And what would I do about the 6-disc changer? Also, would I need to get a special head unit?
I want to get real good sound out of it so I'm going to put some woofers in the back, but that was my main question. Thanks a lot

head unit - yes it is possible, it's not going to look good though becuase you'll have a bunch of black around it. a few members in the ES300 forum have some aftermarket head units. check it out. If memory serves, i believe member "hoebag" and member "icebox" or something like that have/had aftermarket head units.

subwoofers - yes it's possible, the stock headunit does not have RCA jacks for the amp though so you'll have to do a line level converter setup where you tap signals from the stock subwoofer.

decide on the headunit u want and have an audio shop do a custom install for u, they can pretty much match black trimming around the headunit so it at least blends somewhat well...it wont look as clean as stock, but for every upgrade u must sacrifice something rite???
