Different Alternatve for 6-disk
I was wondering if there was another alternative for my 99 GS400 6-Disk cd changer. Is there any way to intergrate and aftermarket one to be controlled my Nav system? It's a Pioneer. I have had the FM modulator, and the sound quality sucks. Is there another approach to doing this without the FM modulator?

I know it's expensive, but just a suggestion: You can use a product made by Vais Tech that allows you to hook up an iPod and control it with your stock nav system. That way you eliminate your sound quality issues that you have from using a FM modulator AND have 10k songs at your fingertips! Check out http://www.vaistech.com/aic100i.html. I'd put one on my ES but I don't know how much longer I'm going to have the car.
i am confused too. what does a "pioneer factory nav system" mean. the 99 gs nav system screen is made by fujitsu and the nav hard drive computer is made by denso. the radio below the nav screen is made by pioneer and it is powered by a pioneer amplifier . do you mean you have a factory nav system with the audio system being the standard pioneer nav radio and amp and it doesnt have a pioneer made factory 6 disc in the glovebox.? all 99 gd factory nav systems came with a cd changer in the glovebox from the factory i thought. it was part of the navigation option package to have a cd changer. if you have a gs300 with factory navigation but no factory cd changer that would be very rare if thats the case then a factory direct input changer can be installed and get rid of the fm modulated changer. i agree they it is not fitting for lexus system to fm modulate anything thrpough it. due to the increased frequency response when using the cd button not the fm button to play cds.
