Default Adding cd to an 00' RX 300?

Hey peeps:

My 2000 didn't come with a cd changer in the dash like many. I was going to purchase a factory changer separately and install it as the factory head unit is set-up to plug right in, but was wondering where to install it? It does not appear there is a cut-out in the glove box to slide one in, but maybe I'm mistaken? Do they make a single-CD head unit? I would probably opt for this if possible.

Also, do many here replace the speakers for the Premium factory stereo to get better sound or both the amp and speakers or..? In general, the factory radio in this truck, though rated at 220 watts, kinda' sucks.

Any thoughts on what's best to do without a rack of cash leaving the wallet is appreciated.

the changer goes in glovebox and needs new glovebox parts to accomodate the changer. the system sounds better once cd installed as the internal equalizer in radio doesant turn on to full fidelity untill the cd button is pushed. there are no aftermarket upgrades that easily integrate into the factory parts as the headunit only communicates with other lexus audio parts. as far as prices the changer and the glovebos parts in new condition can be purchased for around 450.00. email me for information on that deal. the dealer wants in the 1 or even 2000 dollar range for those parts.
