Default stock cd chgr work w/ aftermarket unit?

Hey guys,

I have a 96 gs300, pioneer stock system w/ the 12-disc cd changer in the trunk. I'm in the market for a new head unit, but would hate to lose my changer. Will any pioneer head unit work w/ the existing changer?

Thanks!

the 12 disc was made by fujitsu so i dont think it would work with any other aftermartket headunit. why dont you switch to 1996 nakamichi gs system system for improved sound instead of aftermarket. you will need to switch the headunit the amp and the subwoofer. it would all be plug in and play with no wires to splice like aftermnarket. the door speakers will work ok. as long as the paper cones intact. swirching to new nakamichi 2 way door speakers would also improve the sound. as every speaker would have a tweeter.the whole system in nice condition would be cheaper than aftermarket and the nak stuff will last the life of the car .

That sounds like an awesome solution. Thanks for the feedback lexaudio. Another question is this: Would I need a security code, or anything like that, if I were go find a nak system? I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to find, but I just want to make sure I know what I'm getting into.

Thanks!
