1992 SC400, Nak system-

Does anyone have any feedback concerning the Sony XS-W4021 4inch speakers (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-LwcMORR...0&I=158XSW4021)? I'm looking to do a complete audio overhaul, and was wondering if these would fit in the front doors and rear deck. Is the sizing right? Can I go any larger?

Alternatively, are there any other brands I should consider? I'm also going to eventually replace the center sub when I get the chance. Recommendations for that would be great.

Sony stuff has consistently been average or below. I'm sure these are nothing to brag about. There are much better choices out there. For higher end speakers, check out Dynaudio and Focal, a/d/s, and other good reasonable brands include Boston, MBQuart, Alpine, Polk, etc. I have a ton of Sony stuff for home and pro audio, but I won't touch it for the car with a 10 foot pole (well, maybe a headunit or two, but certainly not amps or speakers).

Do some searching in the threads for subs for the SC, there is plenty of info on it.

 

if your going to upgrade your speakers you might aswell get some 5 1/4 or 6.5" speakers and ditch the 4". Sony is nothing but terrible when it comes to car audio, i highly suggest you avoid buying their car audio products. as you can tell by my sig im a boston acoustics fan.

 

Thanks for the help. I'll steer clear, I had no idea that the reputation did not carry over into the automotive world. I'll keep shopping.
